When adding living space to a home it is the safety conscious and often legal decision to create an egress basement window which allows for a quick escape in event of an emergency. In addition to providing insulation, doors, and windows, DBS Residential Solutions also offers basement finishing services. The combination of our energy efficient windows and basement finishing egress window wells helped make this project become a reality that has a pleasant visual appeal to it.  This home can now increase its value by creating an additional bedroom or other living space. We always recommend our customers review our basement finishing options when looking to finish a basement. We offer inorganic products that will not mold or rot when they become wet.

This homeowner in South Range, WI was experiencing uncomfortable conditions in their home for years. After meeting us at the Duluth Home Show, the decided to tackle their unsealed crawl space. Water was pooling in the space causing humid air to enter the home in the summer months and cold air during winter months.

DBS Design Specialist Henrik Makitalo visited the home to provide a free, no-obligation estimate for a total crawl space encapsulation. After the inspection, he recommended a bit of supplemental support to address some sinking, as well as CleanSpace® vapor barrier as well as sump pump in the space to tackle the water issues.

DBS Foreman Orrin Sundberg used our TerraBlock™ foam insulation to insulate the walls and rim joists, and finished the job by sealing everything in a layer of closed-cell spray foam. These two insulations will work together to keep moisture and cold air from penetrating the rest of the home.

From there, Foreman Taylor Allen and his crew completed the crawl space encapsulation. The team installed 3 SmartJack® support beams to address the sinking ceiling. They then put down a drainage matting, followed by our ultra durable CleanSpace® vapor barrier, and a Triple Safe™ sump pump. This crawl space drainage system is specially designed for crawl spaces and was connected to two discharge lines that will carry the water up and out of the home.

2015 built home on a slab with geothermal heating. ~2000 sqft. Experiencing extremely dry temperature and excessive water/ice on windows with relative humidity at our below 20%. Interested in blower test to figure out the next steps.

I have a house at 5246 S. Forest Rd South Range Wi 54874. It has 2x4 walls one story and the outside dimensions are roughly 44' x 28'. The inside is completely gutted and pretty well cleaned up. I was hoping to get it sprayed closed cell and fairly soon. The wall and outer perimeter of the ceiling in one step then the center of the ceiling in another (a few weeks later). The roof has very low pitch so I was told that spraying it from the inside before the sheetrock goes up was the easiest.

I am a contractor looking to get a cost estimate for insulating the walls of a new (not yet built) house. The house will be 32' x 32', two stories on a slab, with 12"-thick staggered-stud exterior walls.
