We transformed this no-insulation-attic into a fully insulated, energy efficient space. Attic insulation in Cornucopia, WI never looked so good.
This homeowner in Hovland, MN was concerned about the energy efficiency in her home and the air quality. After a quick call to DBS, an appointment was set to have a specialist come out to the home for a free, no-obligation estimate. At the inspection, the specialist was able to explain to the homeowner the best possible solution. The crawl space beneath the home was giving off slight odors and growing some mold. To combat this problem, encapsulating the space would be the best option. This CleanSpace® solution would also make the home more energy efficient and create a barrier between the ground and the house. The homeowner chose to go forward with this work and once it was completed, she no longer had to worry about mold and odor coming from the crawlspace.
A homeowner in Duluth, MN reached out to DBS regarding an upgrade for their home insulation, particularly in a knee wall section. Previously, the area was insulated with standard fiberglass wool insulation, which was causing some issues for the home in regards to saving energy. Fortunately, DBS was able to send out a crew to install SilverGlo™ insulation panels for the knee wall area. These panels act as a radiant barrier for the home, helping to keep it more energy efficient. Photos from the SilverGlo™ installation can be seen here.
It is important to seal as many attic air leaks as possible to prevent conditioned air from leaving your home. We used a spray foam to insulate this area and prevent air leaking from the home into the attic. After sealing the air leaks we blew in insulation to properly insulate the attic (not pictured).
A homeowner in Duluth, MN reached out to DBS regarding the spray foam insulation service. The unfinished basement area had spots where cold outside air could easily access, and this was making it harder to keep an energy-efficient home (not to mention, a warm home). Luckily, DBS was able to send a crew to the home and install spray foam insulation around the perimeter of the basement on the rim joist portion. This will help keep the area warm and keep the overall home more energy-efficient! Photos from the project can be seen here.
