Here in Duluth, MN we are accustomed to cold winter weather. This past week has been no exception, with high temperatures reaching -10 degrees. These extremely low temperatures can cause us to stay hunkered down in our homes and turn up the heat to stay comfortable.
Often, homeowners may not know where heat loss occurs in their home. This heat loss may result in having higher energy bills during these super cold spells. Having an energy efficient home is important to providing a comfortable place to spend time with your family and friends. The best way to find where the air is slipping through the cracks would be to have a home inspection. An article written on MPR News website does a great job of explaining the benefits of having an energy audit. Knowing where your home needs more insulation or air sealing is the first step to fixing the problem.
Although many energy audit companies don’t have any openings until February, there is no need to pay while you wait. Here at DBS, we have openings and System Design Specialist, Steve Stern will make a trip out to your house for a FREE home energy evaluation!
